Three Responsibilities of a Shepherd

We were talking last night at a dinner with friends about the shepherding role of elders.  One person noted that one does not need to be an elder to shepherd, but that elders should be shepherds.  I agree – we need more men and their wives to step up and serve as shepherds to lead small groups and help them grow spiritually. The next generation’s next generation

Last week was Thanksgiving week, and we were happy to spend it with our grandson, daughter and son-in-law at his mother’s house.  The weather this weekend was amazing, with 70’s and cool clear skies, so we took a walk after the meal, taking turns walking with and carrying the little guy.  On Friday, they came over to spend the afternoon, so we took another walk, this time with his new shoes on, then went to see a local Christmas light display. Just finished watching the Patriots last minute field goal win over the Giants.  I don’t know if the Patriots will stay undefeated this season, but as most Pats fans would agree, we just didn’t want the first loss to be to the Giants.  Eli and crew are the only ones with a winning record against the Patriots during the Brady-Belichick era. Happy to see the Pats go on now to face the Bills next Monday and then the toughest game left on the schedule – the Broncos.   (more…)

Annual Meeting – 11/15

Don’t forget we’ll have our church annual meeting this Sunday, 11/15, after the worship service.  Things are changing, so it would be good to attend and learn what’s coming up for 2016.
